Colin Alexander is a writer of science fiction and fantasy. Actually, Colin Alexander is my pseudonym, maybe my alter ego, or who I would be if I hadn’t had a career as a medical researcher. My goal is to create characters that you love (or love to hate) and tell stories about them in dire straits that you will enjoy. My most recent book is Starman’s Saga: The Long, Strange Journey of Leif The Lucky, the story of humanity’s first starflight. This is adventure sf and also hard sf. My previous book was a very different type of story; Accidental Warrior: The Unlikely Tale of Bloody Hal, is a coming of age story set in an alternate history of America. I’m into the very, very rough draft of the next one. My guess is early 2021 for that.
My first two books were mysteries, but I’ve been reading science fiction since I was ten and that is what I love to write. I am an active member of both the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and of Mystery Writers of America. Away from writing fiction, I am a doctor and a biochemist whose idea of relaxation is martial arts (taekwondo and minna jiu jitsu). I live in Maine with my wife, Marcie, and a cat named Appa.
